External Continuing Education Opportunities
Stronger Together is a newly available mental health awareness training. The program is two-hours and educates about mental health, recognizing deteriorating mental health, and reaching out to someone who may be struggling. The program has both live and digital versions, for both adults and youth. Digital programs are available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. The entire program, including the facilitator training, is available for free and can be accessed at StrongerTogetherMH.com.
The Stronger Together program was developed and piloted in Rhode Island by a social worker in partnership with a local prevention coalition. The program is currently gathering national data to pursue national evidence-based status. Regional data demonstrate that, after completing the program, 90% of participants report increased feelings of efficacy handling mental health concerns in people who may be struggling. Facilitators generally report that the program is easy to learn and implement and that it is relevant and adaptable to their communities.
The program has been used in a variety of settings with a range of audiences. Take a look at the website and see how the program has been used and if it may be a fit for your community.
